The second episode of our MotoSpeedway.com series
We continue our MotoSpeedway.com feature “3 Questions to…”, where we highlight riders from around the world and dive into their speedway journeys, biggest moments, and passion for the sport.
The second rider to appear in our series is Slater Lightcap – a highly talented 20-year-old speedway rider who has recently signed a contract with the legendary Falubaz Zielona Góra. Already a proven competitor on the American scene, Slater continues to push his limits on the international stage.
Let’s get to know him better – in just three questions.
1. How did your speedway journey start?
My speedway journey started at Costa Mesa Speedway when I was a junior. I immediately fell in love with the competition and developed a strong determination to win. From that point on, I stuck with it and continued to push myself. I’m still chasing progress every day and making the most of every opportunity I get.
2. What is your most memorable speedway moment?
My most memorable speedway moment was competing in the SGP2 in Toruń last year. The atmosphere of being part of a Grand Prix event was unbelievable and made me even more hungry for success. The level of competition in a GP goes through the roof compared to any other meeting, and I absolutely loved that challenge.
3. How would you describe speedway in one word?
Relentless.
From banging bars on the track to constantly being on the move and traveling, speedway is relentless. You have to want it badly enough to commit fully – both mentally and physically – to succeed in this sport.
